The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Puerto Rico plans a new form for organizations seeking educational presentations and other community outreach.
Schools, nonprofit organizations, community groups, municipalities and other organizations would be able to submit requests. Responding would be voluntary.
The office estimates 250 responses per year, about 10 minutes for each response and 41.8 total annual burden hours. It reports no capital, startup, maintenance or purchase costs for respondents.
The form would collect information needed to evaluate and coordinate presentation requests. The notice does not list a fixed catalog of presentation subjects or promise that every request will be accepted.
The office says it would use the information to allocate resources and track outreach. It also identifies community concerns, emerging crime trends and program evaluation as intended uses.
Those uses describe how the office plans to manage outreach information; they do not establish that a requester's concern reflects a verified crime trend or law-enforcement finding.
The collection is new and remains subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act process. Comments can address the need for the form, the accuracy of its burden estimate and ways to improve clarity or reduce effort.
Comments are due Oct. 13. Final form design, launch timing and the resulting schedule of outreach events remain to be determined after review.
